Before you purchase your "magnet" be advised that the experience of many of us in the S. Florida area were told that they worked great !

They did work great, they started to rid our area of those pesky mosquitos.

After a year of operation (which is not cheap ) the systems started to degrade, we were told that the oil in the gas was the problem, use a bigger tank and don't run them out of gas & all would be well.

Well, the only way to do that was to hire the "Mosquito Magnet's main man " to service the unit each month, that way the unit would operate properly.

Trouble with that was the main man was another $35-$50.00 per month plus gas, bags, & attractant. wow the operating cost just doubled for no mosquitos. But they were kept operating for those that were not so "CHEAP" and were willing to pay for the service.

People up and down the Florida Keys were unable to properly operate or keep their $1200.00 machines working and the reply was always the same " give us another $250.00 or so and we will send it back for repair & It will be warranted for another year. After the warranty is over send us another $250.00 or $500.00 and we will continue to repair the unit. Not a happy situation.

The $1200.00 unit is now worth $1450.00 after the first repair, not counting the operating expense or sales tax.

"NO WE DON'T REPAIR THEM HERE AND WE WILL NOT SELL YOU THE PARTS"

was all they would say. When asked a second time, was told the price was going up and would be out of luck if I did'nt give them $250.00 now the price would increase to $500.00.

Many gave in to the demands of the Magnet people, many will not.

1. Most all items sold in the US have repair books and parts availability.

2. Some foreign companies can skirt this.

3. Mosquito Magnet is not a foreign operation.

4. adjustment in the policys of Mosquito Magnet (American Biophysics) should be made to allow a more economical method of repair and operation. At least allow us to purchase spare parts at a reasonable price.
